The Allie Book Edit is a website of a curated collection of books read, books to read and where to read them.

Allie McCarthy Platt is the founder and voice of this edit. Currently based in London, England; Allie grew up in Midwest America near Chicago, Illinois. Both locations appear in her writing, which is why you may see American and British English spellings on this site.

She has had a varied career from Actress, to Casting Director, Fundraiser for Arts&Culture, and currently is a Programme Coordinator on the Social Impact & Innovation team at the CIPD, the UK's Human Resources Governing Body (joining the organisation after completing her HR Associates qualification). All ideas on this website are her own and do not reflect any past or present employers.

Her journey into creating this website started from a place of reading regularly. By sticking to a reading challenge of 30 books a year she had an everlasting affect on her mental health and confidence. A passion for helping others and a need for a creative outlet The Allie Book Edit was published to the internet Summer 2019.
